STATEMENT and CODE for FEEDBACK

Providing feedback means having a subjective opinion of a literary work, and therefore any advice does not mean that it is right or wrong, neither does it question your potential writing skills, it is simply subjective editing. Our code of assessment is based on MERIT: Mindfulness; Empowerment; Respect; Integrity with Intention and Thoughtfulness, with giving an appraisal on other members' work.

Our Mission Statement

The Queensland Collective Writers aims to give its members a chance to present their writings, to encourage them to accept fair but civil feedback, and to help them to better understand and apply the accepted rules of the English language.

Why a Writers Group?

Are you interested in writing?

Would you like to:
· Write short stories, a novella, a novel, or poetry?
· Be encouraged to practice different styles?
· Receive positive feedback? on your work?
· Talk to like-minded people?
· Discuss problems with literary expression?
· Join a supportive group?

Then the Queensland Collective Writers could be for you!

We require you to contact us on Queensland.CollectiveWriters@gmail.com We do have a quota for membership.

Expected Code of Behaviour

1. Members should be supportive, and offer encouraging, constructive feedback to fellow members with their written work. We aim for positive and helpful feedback.

2. We ask members to be respectful of the agenda at each monthly meeting, as this needs to be adhered to.

3. Any personal attack, disrespect, rudeness, or unfair/cutting criticism to another fellow writer during any of our meetings is not tolerated or welcome, as this type of behaviour is unacceptable to the congeniality of the group.

4. The co-ordinator reserves the right to make decisions regarding membership.
